FAQ

What kind of films and events will be at the festival?

We have a selection of feature length and short films, contemporary to classic, including festival favorites and world premieres in the horror/thriller genres.

Events include parties, a live radio play, immersive performances, trivia night and a fully interactive horror mystery game that lasts the entire festival.

What is the schedule for the weekend?

We kick it off Thursday evening with with screenings and our Opening Night Film + Party and start off The Game. Films and events will play throughout the weekend until Sunday night with parties Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

Do you accept film submissions?

Yes, but the deadline for entry has passed. Final notifications will go out between late March and early April.

If you have submitted but your status still shows red on Withoutabox, email the programming team at programming@overlookfimfest.com

What is the Immersive Horror Game?

The Festival’s weekend Immersive Horror Game is an original mystery that lasts the entirety of the festival where players can live inside a real-life horror movie throughout the weekend. The Game is available only to festival badge holders, with exclusive reality-bending game experiences available to a limited number of players who opt-in for a more active experience.

Details of The Game’s story will not be revealed until the festival, but there are clues. Discovering how to play is – of course – all part of the game. In the meantime, join our mailing list to be notified when opt-in registration becomes available.

Opt-in slots are limited, so keep your eyes open for more details. For more information on The Game, please visit Bottleneck Immersive.
